Statuses
Statuses control the outcome values available when testers execute runs (e.g., Passed, Failed, Blocked). TestFish ships with system statuses you cannot remove, but you can add organisation-specific ones.
Managing statuses
- Create – Provide a name and optional colour. New statuses become available in manual runs, automated runs, and analytics filters.
- Enable/disable – Disable a status to hide it from pickers without losing historical data.
- Order – Statuses are displayed alphabetically; prefix names if you need a specific order (e.g.,
01 - Passed).
System defaults
The platform includes system statuses (Passed, Failed, Blocked, Skipped, Untested). These cannot be renamed or deleted to protect historical accuracy.
Usage tips
- Keep the set small so testers can choose quickly.
- Align custom statuses with automation outputs; ensure pipelines send the correct status ID.
- When you add a new status, update dashboards or reports that filter on outcomes.
